How to book a doctor on OnlineDoctorBD — a step-by-step guide

From finding the right specialist to holding a confirmed appointment — the whole booking process explained in plain language, with what to expect at each step.

Booking a doctor should not take longer than the consultation itself. This guide walks through the whole process on OnlineDoctorBD, from an empty search box to a confirmed appointment with a meeting link waiting in your account.

1. Find the right doctor

Start from the search box on the home page. You can search three ways, and they combine:

  • By name — if someone recommended a specific doctor to you.
  • By specialty — cardiology, dermatology, paediatrics and so on. If you are not sure which specialist you need, use the symptom shortcuts on the home page: pick the complaint closest to yours and we show the doctors who treat it.
  • By city — useful when you may want an in-person visit later.

On the results page you can narrow further by maximum fee, minimum rating, and whether the doctor is holding consultation hours today. Sort by top rated, lowest fee or most experienced.

2. Read the card before you click

Every doctor card carries the information people usually have to phone a chamber to get: qualifications, years of experience, city, the consultation fee, the average rating from real patients, and — most usefully — the next free time slots. Those little time chips are live. Clicking one takes you straight into the booking form with that date and time already selected.

If a doctor shows "No free slots in the next 2 weeks", that is genuinely their schedule — not a display problem. Try a colleague in the same specialty.

3. Choose a slot

Pick your date and the booking page shows only the times that are actually still open; slots already taken are struck through. Choose online or in-person consultation — the two have separate fees, both shown on the doctor's profile.

4. Pay

Pay from your wallet, by card, or with bKash or Nagad. Wallet and card payments confirm immediately. For bKash and Nagad you send the money and enter the transaction ID from your confirmation SMS; your slot is held while an administrator matches the transfer against the receiving account, and you get a notification the moment it clears. We explain that process in detail in what happens after you pay.

5. Attend

Your appointment appears under My Appointments with its status. For an online consultation the meeting link appears there when the doctor starts the session — no separate app to install, no link to hunt for in a text message.

If your plans change

You can reschedule to any other free slot, or cancel. Cancelling refunds the fee to your OnlineDoctorBD wallet automatically and releases the slot for another patient, so nobody loses out.

Before you start, have these ready

  1. Your mobile number — it is your login, so no username to invent or forget.
  2. The bKash or Nagad app, if that is how you plan to pay.
  3. A short note of your symptoms and when they started. The booking form has a "reason for visit" box, and a doctor who reads it before the call can help faster.
